The Verdict

In regards to people who have rode the whip....I did when I was younger (back in the 70s) at an amusement park located in St. Louis, Mo. on historic Route 66. Chain of Rocks Amusement Park (also know as Riverview Park or Fun Fair Park) actually had two Whips. One was for the big people and another was the Mini Whip located in the Kiddieland section of the park. Chain of Rocks also had many other unique thrill rides; one of which was an oval ferris wheel that sat on the very edge of a bluff...called the Schooner. Sort of felt like an elevated whip when you rode it.
