The Experience

* Arrangement: Riders are arranged 2 across, 4 seats per car for a total of 24 riders per train.
* Notes: Built at a cost of $5.5 million USD.
* Structure: Natural wood color track with stainless steel column supports.
* Elements: Lift hill, plunges down first drop, crests a hill, roars downward to the left before curving up to the first turnaround, then sharply veers toward the first drop and again sharply heads back up for a second turnaround this time beneath the first, heads back to the station with several bunny hops, hard bank left for a final bunny hill, and a 90° turnaround on the beach side into the station.
* Features: Drops into a tunnel that runs beneath the boardwalk before continuing to the lift hill.
* History: Located at Adventure Pier on Spencer Avenue originally named Fun Pier; it was renamed to Wild Wheels after being purchased in 1988.

The Verdict
I always enjoy designers and those with the pocketbooks who allow something extra when simply making your way to the lift hill; in this case I'm talking about the covered tunnel turnaround going beneath the boardwalk. This ride is not too terribly rough - the ocean view is always nice. The first drop is fast and steep. With no airtime gained within the series of turnarounds, the coaster makes up for it though racing back to the station with a series of bunny hops that provide enormously fun airtime. And for an extra surprise ending (not only do I love surprise beginnings but surprise ends are the best) the train races towards the station and at the last second banks left for a final turnaround and slows to a stop.
I rate it 6 Star's
