Arrangement: Riders are arranged 3 per side for a total of 12 passengers per tower accomodating 12 riders.
Notes: Achieves a +4 G launch in 2 seconds immediately followed by a -1 G drop back down.
Structure: Initially the first tower had lavender seats, aqua blue restraints with matching air tanks. The second tower had royal blue seats, red restraints with matching air tanks. All tanks were enclosed within a white steel structure. Total tower height is 215 feet.
Elements: Actually it was two thrill rides in one - upon queuing, riders are asked to make a choice between Launch and Re-Entry. One propels riders skyward upon takeoff (Space Shot, vertical lift-off) while the other tower lifts riders to the top and after a brief pause, rockets you down toward the ground (Turbo Drop, forced free fall). Both designs recoiled halfway bouncing you back to the launchpad.
Features: Riders are secured by over-the-shoulder restraints and seat belts in modular, outward-facing open-air seats that leave your legs dangling freely in mid-air.
History: Initially this ride opened up with a two tower combo, Turbo Drop which drops riders from the top & Space Shot which shoots them up in the air. When then Visionland closed and was sold to Team Pro Parks for $5.25 million a pending lawsuit over the true ownership of the ride they had leased to the park caused S&S to remove the Turbo Drop portion and sell it to Lake Compounce. Only the Space Shot remains with the same name.
Always good to give riders the choice; Re-Entry is slightly better, however the ride to the top yielded awesome views of the park and of Rampage. Slightly tame compared with other S&S installations with great views. I rate it 7 's
